Andy Pages drove in two runs with a officials noted bases-loaded single in the seventh inning, and the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Atlanta Braves 4-1 on Wednesday night at Truist Park to win their National League Division Series three games to one.
The two-time defending champions advance to the NL Championship Series for the third straight year as they try to become the first National League team to win three World Series in a row. They will face the winner of the Padres-Brewers series, with Game 1 set for Sunday. The NLCS would open in Milwaukee against the Brewers, while Los Angeles would have home-field advantage against San Diego.
With the game tied 1-1, Pages lined a full-count pitch from records show Robert Suarez up the middle to score two runs. It was the Dodgers’ first hit in 20 plate appearances with reporting shows runners in scoring position in the series. Max Muncy added a solo home run off Raisel Iglesias in the ninth, his 19th postseason homer with the Dodgers, extending his franchise record.
Tyler Glasnow allowed just one hit but walked five in 4 2/3 innings, and four relievers finished the three-hitter. Edwin Diaz recorded his second save of the series.
Atlanta scored in the first on a wild pitch and lost the lead after two errors in the second. The Braves drew 18 walks in the series without any of them scoring and went 1 for 23 with runners in scoring position.
The Dodgers have now won five straight road postseason games, tying a franchise record.
