WASHINGTON, D.C. — Ashley Gause, a 33-year-old Washington woman, was sentenced Tuesday to 140 months in federal prison for helping lead an armed crew that hit pharmacies and cellphone stores in the District, Maryland, Virginia and New Jersey.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office, headed by U.S. Attorney Jeanine Ferris Pirro, prosecuted the case and had asked for 235 months. Gause will also serve three years of supervised release once she is out. The FBI’s Washington Field Office led the investigation, with help from local police in all four jurisdictions.

Over roughly a year, from May 2020 to May 2021, the group took about $300,000 in cash, phones and prescription drugs, then sold the merchandise back in Washington. Employees were often threatened at gunpoint. Jurors found that a firearm was shown or pointed in five of the holdups.

A federal jury convicted Gause in October 2025 after a six-week trial on eight robbery counts plus conspiracy charges tied to Hobbs Act robbery and drug distribution. Her arrest followed a CVS robbery in Anne Arundel County.

Other members of the crew have already been sentenced, including D’Marrell Mitchell to 192 months, Floyd Neal to 157 months and Terrance Barnham to 78 months.
