DALLAS — A state judge handed a seven-year prison term Wednesday to a local driver convicted in a 2023 intoxicated wreck that killed Southern Methodist University student Honor Wallace and hurt her passenger.
Lynlee Pollis, now 30, lost jury verdicts on intoxication manslaughter and a companion intoxication assault count. The judge also stacked 10 years of probation after release, with 15 days behind bars each year around the crash date, the victims birthdays and Pollis birthday, according to local court coverage grounded in county records.
On Sept. 24, 2023, Pollis blew through a red light at Monticello Avenue and North Central Expressway and slammed into another car, killing 19-year-old Honor Wallace, an SMU sophomore studying English and Spanish. A passenger in the same car suffered a broken collarbone. Pollis walked away with lesser injuries.
An arrest-warrant affidavit said she told officers she was leaving a West Village dog-park bar after a margarita loaded with tequila shots and ADHD medicine. Detectives logged glassy eyes, thick speech and an alcohol smell. Her blood alcohol concentration of .294 sat nearly four times the legal limit, and she admitted running the light, the affidavit said.
Jurors returned the guilty verdicts on Oct. 12. County prosecutors handled the case in Dallas County state district court.
