NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Tennessee Titans parted ways with defensive tackle Jordan Elliott on Tuesday, saying the move followed a review of something that happened at the team facility last week.

According to the club, the incident involving Elliott took place on Thursday, Oct. 15. The Titans did not describe what occurred and said they would have nothing more to say about it.

The timing put the episode three days ahead of the first win of the season for Tennessee, a 26-20 victory at Indianapolis on Sunday that was also the first under head coach Robert Saleh. Elliott was held out of practice on Friday, did not make the trip and was listed among the inactive players for that game.

Elliott, 28, is in his seventh NFL season. Cleveland picked him in the third round of the 2020 draft out of Missouri, and he played four years for the Browns before two seasons in San Francisco, where he started 29 of the 31 games he appeared in.

He came to Tennessee this past offseason after Saleh moved over from the 49ers staff, signing a two-year deal reported to be worth as much as $8.5 million. In five games with the Titans he made one start and was credited with 11 tackles.

Tennessee is back at home this week to face the Cleveland Browns, who sit at 4-2 and lead the AFC North.
