WASHINGTON, D.C. — Washington Commanders coach Dan Quinn left the door open this week to shaking up an offensive line that has fallen short of expectations, giving his staff the bye week to sort out the best five before the Eagles game.
Quinn admitted Tuesday that the line has not played well and did not rule out new personnel if penalties and mistakes keep piling up.
The problems trace back to Aug. 8, when left tackle Laremy Tunsil tore his triceps in a training camp practice. Brandon Coleman slid back to left tackle, a spot he started at in 2024, and the team has also shuffled at center, where veteran Lucas Patrick took over after signing in September.
A facemask penalty on Chris Paul erased a touchdown in Monday’s loss to the 49ers, and right guard Sam Cosmi has missed two games.
Atlanta also pulled another player off the Washington practice squad Wednesday, promoting defensive end Charles Snowden straight to the Falcons roster. Snowden had joined the Commanders practice squad on Sept. 29 and has 4.5 career sacks.
