WILLIAMSBURG, Va. — Gavin Beard hit Hassan Mahasin for a 10-yard touchdown with 38 seconds to play Saturday, Oct. 24, and Georgetown held on to beat William & Mary 28-27 at Zable Stadium in Williamsburg, Va., for its third win in a row.

Beard finished 21 of 36 for 265 yards and four scores, a career best. Jonathan Alexander caught four passes for 124 yards, including a 41-yard touchdown in the first quarter, and Samir Crosby and Isaiah Grimes also caught scoring throws.

The Tribe scored 17 seconds into the game on a 68-yard Andrew King run, and the teams were tied at 14 at the half and 21 after three quarters. Max Lipinski then kicked field goals of 32 and 22 yards to put William & Mary up 27-21 with just over five minutes left.

Georgetown answered with a seven-play, 48-yard march for the winning score, and Thomas Anderson added the extra point. Darmon Narcisse intercepted a pass on the first snap of the final William & Mary drive to seal it. Winston Watkins threw three interceptions for the Tribe.

The Hoyas move to 3-4 overall and 3-2 in the Patriot League. Georgetown is off next week and returns Nov. 7 against Holy Cross.
