NEW YORK, N.Y. — Chicago Cubs center fielder Pete Crow-Armstrong and New York Yankees outfielder Cody Bellinger were named the top defenders in their leagues Friday night, each winning a Platinum Glove for the first time.

The Platinum Glove goes to one player in each league regardless of position. Crow-Armstrong took the National League honor after leading every big leaguer with +26 Outs Above Average, the second year in a row he has led or shared the top spot in that metric. He also ranked first in fielding run value and claimed his second straight Gold Glove.

Bellinger won in the American League. It was his first Gold Glove since his 2019 MVP season with the Dodgers, and he became only the second Yankee to win the Platinum award, joining catcher Jose Trevino in 2022.

The team awards went to the Cubs in the National League and the Toronto Blue Jays in the American League. Chicago led the majors with +72 Outs Above Average and +115 Defensive Runs Saved, and it was the club’s second straight team win and third overall. Toronto took the team prize despite having no individual Gold Glove winner, though it had finalists at five positions.

Kansas City shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. also received the Heart and Hustle Award for a third consecutive year. He is the first player ever to win it three times, moving past Craig Biggio, with whom he had shared the record of two.
