WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Washington Spirit host Gotham FC at Audi Field on Saturday at 12:30 p.m., a nationally televised NWSL rivalry game with Shield and playoff stakes for both clubs in Washington.

Gotham enters at 16-4-7 with 55 points, four clear of San Diego Wave for first place with three matches left. A Spirit win would still leave Gotham hunting the regular-season title, while a Gotham win would lock a top-two finish and home field through the playoff semifinals.

Gotham can also clinch the first Shield in club history Saturday if it beats Washington and San Diego later loses to the North Carolina Courage. Spirit sit third at 15-8-4 with 49 points after a 3-2 road win at Houston on Oct. 4, when Clara Luvanga scored the 84th-minute winner.

At home recently the Spirit have dropped three of four and found the net only once in that stretch at Audi Field. The clubs last met July 15 at Citi Field, where Gotham won 1-0 and extended an unbeaten run against the Spirit to five meetings.

Saturday is the 46th meeting across all competitions. Kickoff details match the weekend Footy Fix slate listing Gotham at Washington for 12:30 p.m. on the national broadcast window.
