The construction of a new golf course named El Ebano at the Reserva Cardon in Sinaloa, Mexico, has been officially announced, with Landscapes Unlimited selected as the development company responsible for planning and building the facility. The project is part of a broader initiative at Cardon Adventure Resort, located approximately 45 miles north of Mazatlán, aiming to incorporate sustainable tourism and recreational offerings into the region.
The Project Development Group of Landscapes Unlimited will oversee various phases including design, engineering, permitting, contractor selection, project management, and budgeting. Construction of the 18-hole championship golf course is scheduled to commence in the first quarter of 2026. It is anticipated that at least nine holes will be playable by 2027, with the entire course expected to be fully operational by the last quarter of 2028.
The course design is being led by renowned golf course architect Mike Nuzzo, recognized for his award-winning work at Cabot Citrus Farms. The El Ebano course will stretch over approximately 6,900 yards, featuring a par-72 layout. It will be uniquely routed through mountainous terrain, offering players scenic views of the Pacific Ocean from 12 of its holes. The design emphasizes integration with the natural landscape, emphasizing both challenge and beauty.
Adhering to sustainable construction practices, the project will balance development with environmental responsibility. Additionally, El Ebano will be part of a low-density residential master plan, including amenities for various recreational activities such as ocean and pool surfing, fishing, mountain biking, skateboarding, hiking, and racquet sports. These amenities aim to promote outdoor engagement among residents and visitors.
