Silver highlighted that the league’s talks are still in the exploratory phase, emphasizing the need for comprehensive review before moving forward. The decision-making process is being managed by two existing league subcommittees—namely, the advisory finance committee and the audit and strategy committee. These groups are responsible for evaluating market opportunities, financial impacts, and logistical considerations related to league expansion.
During the meetings, Silver noted that the overall tone among team owners was one of curiosity rather than commitment. No formal votes or straw polls were taken regarding expansion; instead, discussions remain preliminary and exploratory.
