Portland, Oregon — A 37-year-old man was taken into custody Thursday after authorities linked him to a burglary at a construction site in Washington County. The arrest was prompted by a report of suspicious activity early that morning and subsequent police investigation.
Shortly after 3:30 a.m., a caller reported observing a suspicious individual near the construction area located on Northwest Anastasia Drive in Bethany. The caller provided a description of the individual and the vehicle they were driving. The vehicle was later identified as a 2010 Nissan Versa with duct tape covering its license plates.
Portland area deputies responded promptly, locating the suspect’s vehicle within the vicinity. The vehicle was subject to further investigation, and authorities discovered construction tools inside the Nissan Versa, raising suspicion of involvement in criminal activity.
Investigators reviewed the vehicle and linked it to a prior burglary incident at a construction site that occurred on August 7. Evidence collected pointed toward the suspect’s potential involvement in multiple criminal activities at different sites.
Following these developments, a search warrant was executed at Arambula’s residence shortly after 9 a.m. During the search, detectives recovered several items believed to be stolen, confirming suspicions of ongoing criminal behavior.
Abel Arambula was arrested at the scene and later booked into the Washington County Jail. He faces multiple charges, including three counts of second-degree burglary, first-degree theft, and first-degree criminal trespass.
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) has urged the public to assist with ongoing investigations. Anyone with additional information related to the incident is encouraged to contact the sheriff’s office at 503-629-0111 and reference case number 50-25-10943.
Burglary and theft incidents at construction sites have been an ongoing concern in the Portland area, with authorities emphasizing the importance of community vigilance. The recent arrest underscores efforts to combat property crimes and protect local construction projects from theft and vandalism.
This case remains under investigation as authorities continue to piece together details surrounding the suspect’s involvement in multiple criminal activities. No additional information has been released at this time.
