The new luxury golf carts at Zimbali Lakes Resort enhance the golfing experience.
Zimbali Lakes Resort in South Africa enhances its guest experience by introducing a fleet of 50 luxury golf carts from Club Car. The new carts, equipped with advanced technology, including a real-time management system, aim to improve service quality for both members and visitors while complementing the newly opened Ernie Els Signature Course.
Zimbali Lakes Resort, a prominent luxury resort situated approximately 25 miles north of Durban in South Africa, has announced the deployment of a new fleet of golf carts supplied by Club Car. This move aims to improve the overall experience for both members and visitors, coinciding with the resort’s recent opening of its 18-hole Ernie Els Signature Course.
The resort selected AFGRI, the official distributor of Club Car in South Africa, to deliver a total of 50 high-spec Tempo golf carts. These carts are designed with advanced features for superior comfort, performance, and efficiency. They come equipped with luxury comfort seats and lithium-ion batteries, which are known for their durability and fast charging capabilities.
Each golf cart is fitted with Visage, an industry-leading fleet management system which allows real-time monitoring of carts and provides golfers with valuable information at each hole. Additionally, the system offers in-car entertainment, enhancing the overall golfing experience and allowing staff to efficiently manage and maintain the fleet.
According to reports from Zimbali Lakes Resort’s management, the performance of the Club Car Tempos has exceeded expectations. The integrated lithium-ion batteries have extended the lifespan of each cart, reduced wear on the golf course turf, and enabled quicker turnaround times due to rapid charging. The resort’s management has also highlighted that the carts’ comfort features have significantly benefited both employees and golfers by providing a smoother, more enjoyable ride.
Zimbali Lakes Resort joins a growing list of prestigious South African golf destinations choosing Club Car as their cart provider. Notable additions include Ruimsig Country Club, which recently transitioned from a competitor brand, as well as Arabella Hotel Golf & Spa in the Western Cape and Cotswolds Downs Golf and Country Estate near Durban. These partnerships underscore Club Car’s reputation for delivering reliable, high-performance golf carts designed to meet the needs of premium venues.
Club Car’s Regional Manager for Middle East and Africa, Nicolas Le Glas, expressed enthusiasm about contributing to the enhancement of golf services at leading South African resorts. The Club Car Tempo golf cart is favored among high-end resorts due to its exceptional hill-climbing power, acceleration capabilities, and customizable options. These include choices in color, seats, storage, wheels, and programmable drive modes — features that support tailored performance and user preferences.
The deployment of these new golf carts marks a significant upgrade in Zimbali Lakes Resort’s service offerings, aligning with its positioning as a top-tier destination within South Africa golf and hospitality sectors. With other notable resorts also adopting Club Car’s solutions, the company’s presence in South Africa’s high-end golf resort market continues to strengthen, driven by the demand for reliable, technologically advanced, and customizable golf transportation options.
