OXFORD, Miss. — No. 2 Georgia raced to a 28-0 lead by the break and handled Ole Miss 42-7 on Saturday night at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium, with quarterback Gunner Stockton responsible for five touchdowns, four through the air and one on the ground.

The Bulldogs scored on four straight drives early, covering 72, 96, 61 and 50 yards, while the Rebels got past midfield only once in that span. Stockton completed 9 of 15 throws for 186 yards. Talyn Taylor caught three of the touchdown passes and finished with 140 yards on four grabs, and Ethan Barbour had the other scoring catch.

Georgia piled up 482 yards, 295 of them on the ground, with Nate Frazier gaining 107 on 16 carries. Craig Dandridge Jr. opened the scoring on a 4-yard run.

Ole Miss quarterback Trinidad Chambliss was 18 of 34 for 170 yards with an interception and was sacked five times. Shekai Mills-Knight scored the lone Rebels touchdown on an 8-yard run. Frustrated fans tossed trash and bottles onto the field after a second-quarter pass interference call with Ole Miss already down 21-0.

The loss ended a 16-game home winning streak for Ole Miss and was its most lopsided home defeat since a 62-7 loss to Alabama in 2018. It also gave Kirby Smart his first win in Oxford in three tries. Georgia moves to 8-1 overall and 6-1 in the SEC, while Ole Miss falls to 6-3 and 4-3.
