WASHINGTON, D.C. — Two Washington schools meet in the pool on Saturday when American University welcomes Howard for a crosstown swimming and diving dual, the home opener for the Eagles.
Racing starts at noon at the Reeves Aquatic Center inside Bender Arena. American is calling it a Pink Meet in support of breast cancer research, and the full meet will stream on the American athletics YouTube channel. The Eagles come in a day after a road meet at Catholic.
The series history splits by gender. The Howard men lead American 8-3 overall and have won two straight, including a 146-80 win last Oct. 31. The American women have never lost to the Bison, holding an 11-0 edge after a 137-84 win in last year’s meeting.
Howard opened its season at Georgetown on Oct. 10, where the women won three events. Alyssa Napier took the 100 butterfly in 56.58.
