ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — The Goo Goo Dolls, a band that got its start in Buffalo, will headline the halftime show of Buffalo’s Thanksgiving night game against Kansas City, the team announced Friday.
The Nov. 26 game is the first Thanksgiving contest the Bills have ever hosted. It will be shown nationally in prime time from Highmark Stadium.
The band will perform from the Bills Legends Deck, a spot visible across the stadium. Fans will get PixMob light-up wristbands at their seats that will flash in sync with the music.
Founders Johnny Rzeznik and Robby Takac formed the group in Buffalo in 1986. The band has sold some 15 million records, earned four Grammy nominations and logged 15 singles that reached No. 1 or the Top 10. Its 1998 hit Iris has topped 6 billion streams, including more than 1 billion in 2025.
The halftime show adds to a busy November for the band at home. It already has two benefit concerts set for Nov. 20 and 21 at the Town Ballroom to raise money for FeedMore Western New York, and the Buffalo History Museum opened an exhibit on its 40-year history last month.
