High school sports in Washington, D.C. are governed by the District of Columbia State Athletic Association (DCSAA), established in 2012 by the Executive Office of the Mayor and the Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE). Its members are D.C. public schools, public charter schools, and independent (private and parochial) schools.

DCSAA awards DC State Championship titles in 32 boys’ and girls’ interscholastic sports, including E-Sports, in Division A and AA. Its regulations provide unified rules and oversight to member schools on student-athlete eligibility.

HEREWashingtonDC covers every layer of Washington sports: DCSAA varsity scores and playoff brackets, college game previews and standings, pro team results and recruiting and NIL news from every local program. We track the Friday night scoreboard from one end of Washington, D.C. to the other, the coaching changes that reshape programs, and the student-athletes making their case for the next level. If it happens on a Washington field, court, diamond, or fairway — it’s HERE.
