FLORHAM PARK, N.J. — New York Jets receiver Garrett Wilson said Wednesday that he wants to remain with the team, even as a 2-5 start and a shrinking role in the offense have left him openly frustrated.
Wilson said he loves playing in New York but admitted that winning matters more to him than any one place. He added that his visible reactions on the sideline come from wanting to win, not from any wish to leave.
The comments came days after a 28-25 loss to a Miami team that had not won all season. Wilson drew just three targets in that game and caught two passes for 26 yards, a week after he was barely involved against New England.
His mood and the Nov. 10 trade deadline have fed talk about his future. He signed a four-year, $130 million extension 15 months ago that runs through 2030, and he still leads the club with 37 catches for 444 yards.
Since the Jets took Wilson 10th overall in 2022, they have gone 24-41. They host Las Vegas on Sunday.
