DALLAS, Texas — The Sacramento Kings are winless no more. The last NBA team without a victory this season knocked off the Dallas Mavericks 115-100 on Monday night at American Airlines Center.

Rookie Darius Acuff Jr., the seventh overall pick out of Arkansas, led Sacramento with 25 points, six assists and five rebounds. Malik Monk came off the bench for 24 points and seven assists, and Zach LaVine scored 23, going 5 of 9 from deep.

The Kings, now 1-6, shot 52.4% overall and buried 19 of their 43 tries from three-point range. They also won the rebounding battle 42-35.

The game was tight for a half, with Sacramento up 54-53 at the break, and the Kings carried an 81-74 lead into the fourth quarter. Every time Dallas tried to close the gap late, Sacramento answered with a big shot.

Dallas played without Kyrie Irving, who sat out for injury management on his surgically repaired left knee as Dallas opened a busy run of five games over eight nights. Cooper Flagg had 17 points but made only 3 of 19 shots, and the Mavericks hit just 7 of 33 threes. Daniel Gafford scored 20 on 9-of-10 shooting and Walter Clayton Jr. also had 20.

The loss ended a three-game Dallas winning streak and dropped the Mavericks to 4-3 ahead of a Wednesday trip to San Antonio.
